Project Controls Manager
About the job
A Project Controls Manager is needed for a portfolio of projects at a pharmaceutical client site in the Raleigh area. This is a multi-year assignment with an opportunity for extension. The position will report to the Principal Consultant and interact with multiple departments across a wide range of projects (including process improvements, manufacturing planning, new equipment implementation, facility construction, product introductions and logistics optimization). Key deliverables will include project schedules, scenario analysis, cost reports and monthly project summary reports.
Responsibilities
- Leads detailed schedule development based on project understanding from stakeholders and team members
- Leads development of project estimates and preparation of detailed cost reports
- Update project progress and perform analysis of bottlenecks, trends, critical path
- Track, analyze and present project status data to team members
- Identify and communicate project risks and develop mitigation plans
- Provide “What-if” scenario support for cost and schedules
- Develop custom projects reports as needed to facilitate project discussions
- Prepare project status presentations highlighting key accomplishments, risks, and changes
- Provide additional support as required/needed by the project manager(s)
- Manage a team of project controls personnel if applicable
Education/Experience
- Four-year relevant engineering degree
- 7-10+ years project experience in project controls or project support in the pharmaceutical industry
- Proficient with scheduling software Primavera, MS Project, etc. and have experience conducting Monte Carlo simulations
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint
